Prepare to be Bow Wowed! Take your four-legged friend on a journey across the Atlantic to the Big Apple.
Queen Mary 2's kennels, the only kennels at sea allowing cats and dogs to travel with their owners on Transatlantic Crossings, have been extended due to their ever-increasing popularity. The kennels are generally sold out within days of going on sale. As part of Queen Mary 2 Remastered an additional 12 new kennels have been added, taking the total number to 24. Cunard have also enhanced the owners' lounge area, created a new inside play area and increased the outside walking area.
The kennel programme is overseen by a full-time Kennel Master who takes care of daily responsibilities including feeding, walking and caring for the pets.
Like all Cunard guests, your four-legged friends sail in the lap of luxury and are treated to as much personal attention as their owners. There journey includes biscuits at turn-down; a choice of new beds, blankets, and toys; and even a QM2 logoed coat and stainless steel bowl. Queen Mary 2 is also equipped with dog and cat life jackets for the ultimate in safety.
The kennel walls are also now adorned with exclusive new artwork depicting Cunard's four-legged friends on board Queen Mary 2 and in iconic destinations. Keeping it in Cunard family, these original pieces of art have been painted by Karen Katon-Oprey. the daugthter of Captain Oprey.
Showing Cunard's attention to detail, they've also sourced lamp posts and fire hydrants from Liverpool and New York to create that authentic, at-home feeling for all dogs travelling on the flagship.
New dog beds, new blankets for each kennel, improved dog and cat jackets, stainless steel logoed dog bowls and new toys have all been introduced to Queen Mary 2's kennel offering during her Remastering.
To ensure that pet passengers are as glamorous as their human counterparts, Cunard has partnered with the British sportswear brand Barbour to offer smart accessories such as jackets, collars and leashes (all available for purchase).
The kennels accommodate cats or dogs on Transatlantic crossings to/from Southampton, New York & Hamburg.
The kennels are located on Deck 12 Aft, Starboard side. There are a total of 24 kennels - 12 small upper and 12 large lower kennels. Two kennels can also be opened up to form a larger kennel.
